World War 2 Data Visuals

During World War 2, technological perks and disadvantages varied greatly between various countries. Everyone has heard about flamethrowers but the more detailed characteristic of the weapon is most likely less known. The infographics below by Max Gadney contain specific details regarding equipment and weapons.

Such fascinating information really puts into perspective how terrifying some of the World War 2 weapons were. Some of the other infographics discusses the specifications of gliders, bomb sights, browning machine gun and various explosives. Every piece of equipment had their ups and downs when compared between factions. The overall effectiveness of a certain weapon had to strike a balance in numerous aspects such as firepower, simplicity, durability, rate of fire, capacity and much more.

From the big picture of World War 2, it can be easily seen how incredibly deadly to be on the receiving end from one of these weapons or frightening to deal with the faults of the gear when your life is on the line.

They are amazing but also they show the horrific nature of war and its consequences.

Truly, WWII was the last great war that had a good balance between advanced technology and personal combat. War nowadays is all fought at a distance, with one side usually out-teching the other.

I don't know too much about flamethrowers, but I hear they're quite impractical, although neat.
