Hex Nut Illusion

This mirage functions in a way similar to the previously examined paper craft illusions. Both the dragon illusions and the hex nut illusions use a concave formation to create a convex deception. The impossible shape allowing linear objects to pass through appear three dimensional to the eye but is actually not.

The printable model of this optical trick is unfortunately unavailable on the web it seems. People have recreated this paper craft trick by mimicking the exact model in the videos. I will be seeking a printable version with instructions for anyone that is interested in trying out this trick for themselves.

The crazy nuts optical illusion was first devised and demonstrated by the late Jerry Andrus. Jerry Andrus, a prestigious illusionist, developed numerous optical tricks throughout his career. He was featured on Bill Nye the Science Guy with the hex nut trick being just one of his many creations.

Paper Craft Dragon Illusion

These incredible paper crafts are designed to trick the eye and appear as though they are coming to life. It seems like their constant gaze cannot be escaped within an 180° front. These dragons were originally created by the American company Thinkfun who were previously Binary Arts.

If anyone want to actually create one, the printable paper craft dragons are found below. They are from grand-illusions.com.

The video below shows a demonstration of how to create one of these optical illusions for anyone having a difficult time with the instructions.

Here are some other designs I came across. There are also designs for Halloween which are perfect given the nature of the illusions created.

The author of the robot dog design can be found (here).

The source of the cat design is located (here).

The skeleton can be downloaded with instructions from its official site (here). The Frankenstein head in a box is much more complex than any of the other paper crafts mentioned so far. With that said, here is the (source). All of the required pieces and instructions are at the site.
