These formulated depiction of shadows were produced by Japanese artist Kumi Yamashita. Her earliest silhouette piece was done in 1994 and titled 'Profile'. Kumi Yamashita's work has not only won multiple awards throughout the years but has also been featured in numerous art galleries and museums. The video below displays one of her more unique productions. It was unveiled in 1999 and titled 'Conversations'.
Kumi Yamashita noted that the animation in 'Conversations' is trying to say "my name is Sylvia".
